Self-consistent random phase approximation in a schematic field theoretical model

Abstract : The exactly solvable model with fermion boson coupling proposed by Schütte and Da Providencia is considered with spontaneously broken symmetry within the so-called self-consistent random phase approximation. Encouraging results for ground and excited states are obtained. A possible extension of the present approach is discussed.
