Spectroscopic properties and upconversion in KYb(WO4)(2): Ho3+

Abstract : The upconversion emission in KYb(WO4)(2):Ho3+ was investigated at room and at low temperatures. A cw diode laser at 976 nm and a pulse Nd:YAG laser at 1064 nm excited the crystal. The decay profiles of the Stokes and anti-Stokes emissions were measured. The mechanism of upconversion emission is discussed.
