QCD running coupling and collisional jet quenching

Abstract : I point out that the existing results for the QCD collisional energy loss of a fast parton in the quark–gluon plasma need redressing. Relating the corrected result to the running coupling (at T = 0) and to the Debye mass, I argue that collisional energy loss is pertinent for the understanding of jet quenching.
