J/ψ suppression in p-A and In-In collisions

Abstract : Results from the NA60 experiment on the J/ψ production are presented. We show that in In-In collisions there is an extra suppression of the J/ψ yield with respect to the expectations of the nuclear absorption. This suppression increases with the centrality of the collisions and it is dominant for low-pTJ/ψ. We also report on new results on the azimuthal J/ψ distributions in In-In collisions. For central collisions, these azimuthal distributions are compatible with an isotropic emission, while for peripheral events, and in particular at high transverse momentum, there is a clear signal of anisotropy, and the J/ψ are emitted preferentially within the reaction plane
