Fission Barrier Heights of Medium Heavy and Heavy Nuclei

Abstract : The liquid-drop model which, in addition to the traditional terms, contains the first order curvature energy was successfully used for the description of binding energies of all known isotopes as well as the experimentally measured fission-barrier heights. It was shown that this new Lublin-Strasbourg Drop (LSD) described the available data better than other commonly used macroscopic models
