Optimization of the hadron calorimeter geometry for the SiD detector

Abstract : The aim of this study is to find an optimal mechanical design of the hadronic calorimeter for SiD detector which takes into account engineering as well as physics requirements. The study focuses on comparison of the physics performance of the several various calorimeter mechanical designs. Therefore, the quantities shuch as energy shower shape, containment, calorimeter response, linearity and energy resolution have been evaluated.
