Fancy Ideas on Neganov-Trofimov Luke Effect (NTL) or: Is There a Limit to the NTL Amplification?

Abstract : The limits on the NTL effect are due to parasitic currents from the electrodes entering the semiconductor. An implanted diode is known to have a better surface behaviour and a very high amplification. One can imagine also to separate the electrodes from the semiconductor. An avalanche structure could also be fabricated to multiply the number of electrons produced before using them. Some applications are suggested.
