Near-yrast excitations in nucleus $^{83}$As: Tracing the π g9/2 orbital in the $^{78}$Ni region

Abstract : The nucleus 83As, populated in the neutron-induced fission of 235U was studied via prompt γ -ray spectroscopy using the EXILL Ge array at the cold-neutron beam PF1B of ILL Grenoble. The level scheme is reviewed. The 2779.0-keV level is tentatively assigned spin (9/2+) as the πg9/2 excitation, based on systematics and available shell-model calculations.
