Lifetime Measurements in $^{166}$Re: Collective vs Magnetic Rotation

Abstract : Lifetime measurements of excited states provide information on the transition matrix elements between quantum states. It is hence a powerful way to investigate nuclear strucutre. In this work, lifetimes in the neutron-deficient nuclide 166Re have been reported, which is situated 19 neutrons away from the lightest stable rhenium isotope. This is one of the few nuclei in this region where such information is available and the only reported lifetime measurements of an odd-odd nucleus in this region to date.
