| The combination of techniques developed over past few decades has led to the deployment of the most sensitive detectors of Very High Energy (VHE) gamma-rays, with an increase in sensitivity of an order of magnitude over the previous generation. Many such systems have been, or are in the process of installation at several sites world-wide. Results from these have more than doubled the catalogue of sources known at these energies, and have indeed added to the classes of emitting objects. These and future observations may provide answers to some of the essential and longstanding questions in astrophysics. |
