| The H1 and ZEUS collaborations continue the combination work towards the best precision in the proton structure measurements and the extraction of PDFs, with the publication of the HERAPDF1.0 and the milestone release 1.5. During the last year, a few very important results were achieved: - Besides the precise DIS data, jet production data have been used in a common 'global' fit (HERAPDF1.6). This procedure leads to a more robust and self consistent determination of the strong coupling and PDFs (in particular for the gluon). - The charm data, combined previously, has been included as well in the fit, demonstrating the global consistency of the factorisation approach for multiple phenomena (inclusive, jets, charm) measured with the same experiment (HERAPDF 1.7). These new results prepare the ground for the future release 2.0 that will include final high Q2 data. It is likely that for Moriond large data sets will become final, together with new determinations of the structure functions in kinematic domains approaching the electroweak scale (like xF3 or F2gamma-Z). In addition, a new development, called HERAFitter, is proposed to the community. This initiative aims at unifying the PDF determination tools in a common framework. The concept is demonstrated in the beta release including HERAPDF as a benchmark but extended to many other processes (including W and Z production at LHC and Tevatron). For all these developments, the red line is the impact for LHC measurements, which will be copiously demonstrated using the benchmarking analyses already in place. |
