Abstract

Digital technologies foster two types of attitudes: either the enchanted discourse about the wonder of global access to information or the catastrophy of the digital divide which expands the social divide between riche and poor, especially between North and South of the planet. Beyond these attitudes, the present communication aims at reconsidering the nature of relationship between nations in a symbolic perspective of information exchange. Rather than borders between nations we prefer to speak of mutual exchange of cultures and identities. Traduction is a process that permits exchanges and can be carried out due to the universal adoption of digital technologies by the young generations of all continents.
