One of the most sensitive parameters to the mass composition of cosmic rays is the muon content of the shower. The Pierre Auger Observatory has an invaluable capability for muon measurement in its surface dectector.We present two independant measurements of the number of muons and we compared the dependance of the muonic signal at 1000 m on energy with previous experimental results (AGASA, CASA-MIA) and with Monte Carlo predictions.
